For the last three years, the Keele Forum for Philosophical Research has held a successful Annual Lecture, usually scheduled close to the World Philosophy Day (this cademic year on Thursday, 17th November 2010). Past speakers include Giuseppina D’Oro, Miranda Fricker, and Stephen Engstrom.
In the 2010/11 academic year, the Annual Lecture was followed by a conference on “The Morality of Law”, which attracted a lot of national and international interest.
For November 2011, we plan to organise an Annual Lecture and Conference on the theme “The Future of Philosophy”, to include papers on the future of philosophy as an institution, on new areas in philosophy, as well as on metaphilosophy.
