The third meeting of the reading group on A. W. Moore’s The Evolution of Modern Metaphysics took place on Friday, 31 August, approximately from 1 to 2.30 pm, in CM1.24 (Claus Moser Research Centre, Keele University).

As promised, I recorded the discussion and I post it here (Part 1 and Part 2). In addition to me, participants included Peter Fletcher, Victoria Door, Stephen Leach, Christopher Zebrowski, Philippe Blenkiron, and Arran Goodfellow.

The meeting began with a presentation of Chapter 2 (Spinoza: Metaphysics in the Service of Ethics), which I offered. Discussion continued until shortly after 2.30.

For the next meeting, we will focus on Chapter 3, Leibniz: Metaphysics in the Service of Theodicy. The day, time and place for the next meeting, as well as the name of the participant who will do the introductory presentation, will be posted here before long.
